Singapore Innovation League — A Primer

Wannabe entrepreneurs rarely get the requisite help for setting up their ventures. One gets saddened by the fact that a number of ventures have to face premature death owing to lack of funds and guidance. Besides that, banks are not always willing to help new or rising companies that do not have sufficient collateral. However, Niraj Goel, the successful entrepreneur and philanthropist based in Singapore is set to change everything with the Singapore Innovation League by providing necessary monetary help to budding entrepreneurs.

The Corpus
The Singapore Innovation League corpus is worth 1.5 billion SGD, which is roughly equivalent to around 1.2 billion USD. This corpus is aimed at helping technology companies to expand their operations and scale new heights. As many as 500 companies are getting sizable help from the program. Going by the numbers, every company would receive close to 3 million SGD worth funding from the corpus, which is big enough to fire up the fortunes of each one of them!

The Singapore Innovation League is not only among the biggest attempts at fundraising for startups and budding enterprises, it is certainly the biggest by an Indian in the country. Niraj is doing a great service to both his home country, India, and his adopted home, Singapore, with this venture. Several technology companies are getting directly benefited from his venture and a number of others are getting benefited in an indirect manner because of increase in business opportunities in the country.
